Leigh Lake 2012
Now that we are back west, we were able to attend the annual Leigh lake trip. The Barlows and us, were the only ones able to make it this year. Wendy decided to stay home with the girls, so it was a boys trip with me, Jackson, and Asher. The weather was perfect. 80's during the day and cool at night. No bugs at all. We started out the trip eating at Bubba's the night before, the boys loved the ribs. We dropped by Rendevous River sports and were lucky to find a used kids whitewater kayak, so Jackson now has his first whitewater kayak. He was incredibly excited and loved that is was Jackson brand. He kept saying "Hey, I'm Jackson, my boat is a Jackson, and I am in Jackson. He loved the kayak, and paddled most of the way across String and Leigh lake. Like his dad, he is hooked. We also had inflatable paddleboards, and the kids were on them non stop. As always the white sand beach and crystal clear water was awesome. We hiked to frog island and caught a couple of frogs. The boys had a great time and can't wait until next year.

I did a little knitting
I did a little knitting while I was pregnant and I wanted to do a photo shoot featuring my projects. But the star is my beautiful Greta and her kissable lips.

I just love her beautiful face.
These pictures were taken when she was 5 weeks old.

A Blessing
We blessed our beautiful Greta Jane of September 2nd. In keeping with tradition the blessing was in Utah. We were lucky to have many of our family there. It was a beautiful day. Greta was adorable. Mitch gave a beautiful blessing. I always plan to sit and write what I remember from each of my kids blessings and then I never do. But what sticks out is Mitch talking about what a miracle sweet Greta is. Also, Lily kept running into the center of the circle and saying "Greta!?" It was a combined question and exclamation. Another memory that sticks our was my dad's closing prayer. It was like a second blessing. I don't really remember exactly what he said. I just remember the feeling that I had, he got me a little teary, as I did during Mitch's blessing.

The group shot.

The family shot, we had a really hard time getting a good picture. This picture is really more just to check the box. Yup, we got a family picture, nuf said.

My niece loved holding her little cousin. She was way more excited to hold Greta than any of my kids, but I guess they get to hold her everyday.

We had a beautiful day, spent with our wonderful family. I am so grateful to everyone who traveled to share Greta's blessing day with us.

Greta at 3 months

She is also not so tiny. Like her siblings before her, she has doubled her birth weight and then some, and she is very long. She has also started reacting to her family members with the most adorable smiles. I can see a laugh is just around the corner. Her eyes are most definitely blue, we were pretty sure they would be, but now we know for sure, and she has the most amazing long black eye lashes.
For her three month pictures I focused mostly on getting pictures of her in her beautiful blessing dress. I had planned to make her dress. I even cut out the pieces and have the bodice sewn. But as it got closer to her blessing I realized that making the dress was too much for me right now. So I just bought one. I will say that her dress is what I would have made if I could have, so that has to count for something.
I am in love with this beautiful, magical, blessing of a girl!

Greta's Newborn pictures
I want to thank Andrea Hatch for working with me on this shoot. They are such gorgous shots, but I am a little biased. I am so in love with the baby girl!
